Version: ismeretlen (using 4.3.90 (KDE 4.3.90 (KDE 4.4 RC1)) "release 2", KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Desktop / openSUSE_11.2) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop When I open KRunner with Alt+F2 and I type something into the field then I cannot move with the arrow keys. It is very, very annoying, please fix it.
You can select results by using tab; up/down is reserved for browsing the history
Up and down work with newer versions of KDE.
I reopen this bug, because in KDE 4.9.2 this issue is valid again. If I type eg. "ope" the down key does nothing, although there are a plenty of items beneath (Opera, OpenTTD etc.). However, if I press up (move backwards in the history) and down again, it works as intended.
I can confirm this bug for KDE 4.10 RC 2 also.
Can confirm for KDE 4.10.4, too. If you open krunner (Alt + F2) and then type something, key down doesn't do anything, neither browsing history (obviously there is no newer entry, than the current one) nor does it change the action. >However, if I press up (move backwards in the history) and down again, it works as intended. I can confirm that. Btw. browsing the history with key up / down seems like a bad idea to me. Typing the first 3-5 characters of the action I want to execute and then choosing the right one with arrow keys takes far less time than browsing the history... ... and tab for selecting the right action seems very unintuitive for me (to be honest, didn't even know about that). May be related to Bug #299472
I can confirm it for KDE 4.13.0 on Kubuntu 14.04. In my opinion this bug should be marked as a duplicate of bug 299472 , or vice versa.
