I was testing to see if the patch from https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260005 fixed this, but I was unable to reproduce the bug. Do you have middle click emulation disabled?
I'm getting the exact same problem with Kmines 4.4.3. This bug is so frequent that I stopped playing Kmines. Sometimes a whole area was missing numbers. Someome should confirm this bug.
