The dialog with a progress bar that appears when the Akonadi Server starts when a person logs in to KDE is very annoying. It usually decides to pop up right as I am typing in my KWallet password to unlock my wallet so that NetworkManager can get a network connection. This popup steals focus, however, and I loose track of where I was in typing my password and have to type it all over again.

In my opinion, this dialog shouldn't be here in the first place. The average user doesn't really care/know what Akonadi is, and doesn't really need to know that it's starting. They just expect their PIM-y stuff to work. Popping up the failure dialog is definitely understandable, but otherwise Akonadi really should just start quietly in the background and do its thing without bugging people with focus-stealing popups.
