Version:           0.80.2 (using KDE 4.3.3)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    openSUSE RPMs

Although contacts can be at the top level (not in a group) when you add a contact with File/Add Contact, there is only a dropdown list with the groups, with no option to put the new contact to the top level.
