Description Aaron Peterson 2009-11-19 02:15:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian stable Packages

My laptop has seen better days. The power plug is loose. it works well enough, and I can't afford to take it apart to fix it.

Please don't tell me to go fix my hardware and that it's not a KDE problem... I am working on fixing it... it's just that anytime a program can be given too many instructions for it's buffer... it's a bug.

Also, this bug manifested itself when the power cable was good... If I plugged in the laptop when the error message popped up, it would still suspend!!! I put it in within 30 seconds!

or if I start the computer with a low battery, and have to unplug it, or move it... it will do some whacky stuff.

Just now my computer told me that it was going to turn off the computer... but it did give me a pop up to click that would stop it... so this bug has already been addressed... but not quite to where it doesn't annoy and make it not work.

Detect flutter --- if too many profile changing events happen in short succession, put it into one error message.

When going down in battery level status (or up for that matter)
set a Delay between notification and action. I'd like to hear a beep... then a bit later a visual note... and a bit later have my screen dim and then a bit later have the effects turn off.

Other people may want no audio... whatever.. ultimately the notification should be customizable as part of the profile.

For now, the bug is simply that the computer becomes unusable when the kwin effects are being turned on and off 5 times in 2 seconds.
