When Okular shows a PDF, there's a bar below the document with page numbers and navigation. I can't find an option to hide it, and it wastes spaces imo.

Likewise, when showing "page navigation panel", I only want thumbnails, not the contents/thumbnails/reviews/bookmarks area shown.

Looks like a duplicate of 157284, but I don't see how to properly mark it as such...

Yep, right. Regarding the second request (please only one request per bug), you can right click the icons and make them small and also hide the icon text. This way the side bar gets very small.
