If you get online using the facebook extension you are not shown as online for your friends.

When I log in into Facebook through the plugin, I appear to be connected to fellow Facebook users. This until someone tries to send me a message. At this point, I now appear disconnected for other Facebook users.

This can be considered fixed, because facebook now uses xmpp for chat.
