In the profile management of the konsole application the button "delete profile" is enabled on for all of my global profiles, although I cannot change these as a normal user. Therefore clicking this button has no effect. Furthermore I experienced that one of my local profiles was NOT deletable by the profile management dialog, because the button was disabled - although I had the permission to delete it. 2. If I add, delete or change a profile outside of the profile management dialog (i.e. copying a profile file) the profile management dialog will not notice that. I have to restart konsole. Maybe it's not a big issue, but the official KDE Plasmoid for selecting konsole profiles will notice and display the change immediately. besides that konsole IS a killer app on my linux desktop ;-)
I'm able to create a profile, and the profile is correctly persisted after quiting yakuake and then restarting. But when I choose some profile as "Default" and quit yakuake (with the "x" button on the bottom-right part of the window), after restarting, the profile is always the yakuake's default. It also happens that if I choose in the "Manage Profiles" window that certain profiles be showed in the "Profile Menu" (context-menu: Change Profile), when I restart yakuake, it doesn't remember my choices. I guess is all the same bug. Best regards!
Since KDE 4.4 the situation is better but not perfect. Issue Nr.2 of my description is now obsolete. but Issue Nr.1 is still at least partially valid. There is a (global) Root_Shell.profile located /usr/share/kde4/apps/konsole - this profile is changeable and deleteable in the (normal) user's profile management which is curious, because it's a global profile. If I change the profile, it seems that a new locally adopted root_shell.profile is created and the global one is deactivated. Unfortunately the oficial KDE plasmoid with Konsole profile selection shows now 2 "Root_Shell" entries. Inmo this behaviour is odd.
In issue 1, that non-deletable local profile might be your current default profile, I guess.
Hi, I rechecked the situation with KDE 4.7.0. It seems that all problems which are here described disappeared. Imo this bug can be closed.
