ich you have multiple accesspoints for oe SSID, then reducing the number of the shown WLANs does not affect the length of the list. 
I have about 20 accesspoints for one WLAN. So i cant see the other panels like 'Wired' or 'Mobile' without disabling the WLAN panel.
