Description M. Thomas Frederiksen 2009-07-02 18:35:14 UTC
Version: 2.2-SVN (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.28-11-generic

I renamed the artist, and clicked "organize files"... gone
but... the old artist name and album is still listed in the collection
yes, the files are gone, not where they should be, nor where they were
it's possible that they're under some random name, lost in the collection somewhere

what a mess... I upgraded, going to the hassle of compiling because I was told that the collection scanner had been fixed. This is not what I call fixed! Since 2.x I'm really getting fed up w/ amarok, but the 1.4.x pkgs don't work well anymore either. Why should I bother with this mess?

I clicked on the album in the collection manager, and selected "edit tags" then I changed the name of the artist. The album was not moved in the collection manager--it was still listed under the old artist name. I repeated this a few times, each time, the tag editor showed the old name. I checked the tags with EasyTag and I believe that the name was changed (but I'm not sure... I may have had to rename the artist in easytag). At any rate I clicked the album and selected "organize files" and the files did not go into the right place, but they are gone.

Sorry, but running an early development version like 2.2 is always risky. You should follow our mailing lists, the commit messages and our #amarok channel on irc.freenode.net
