this error message is not helpful Cannot eject the disc. One or more files on this disc are open within an application. the user needs to know the application name or better the possibilitiy to click and open the very app-window or even to kill the process Example fuser -m /dev/sr0 returns /dev/sr0: 17009 ps -ef |grep 17009 returns /usr/lib64/gvfs/gvfsd-cdda --spawner :1.51 /org/gtk/gvfs/exec_spaw/2 not very helpfull ... fuser -k /dev/sr0 kills the process manual umount works now but ... nothing for the end user. ...

Patch and review at https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/106755/
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding! Nate Graham
Still a wish for Plasma 5. Reopening and reassigning.
I'm not sure how much sense this makes, sorry. :) The device notifier is intended to be a quick shortcut to disks, not expose this kind of detail. It's not Partition Manager. :) Speaking of Partition manager, you can use it to give labels to your disks so that they can be distinguished. That's probably the best solution here. Hopefully that will be sufficient.
