Description Arnt Karlsen 2009-06-07 18:45:23 UTC
Version: 4.2.4 (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

..cut 'n pasted from my Debian Bug#532131 report:
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:4.2.4-1
Severity: normal

..as I start up my "6 web cam streamer" "view" profile,
(a web "page view" split up into 6 independent ones, that
I use to view web cam streams), it loses track of "which
stream belongs where", typically dropping 3 streams and
showing 2 or 3 copies of one or 2 of the remaining streams,
in about 10 seconds.

..this works for hours and days as it should do in
konqueror-3.5.10, but failed _totally_ in
konqueror-4.2.2, which didn't show _anything_.

..on konqueror-4.3.00, track of the 6 webcam streams are lost in about 5 seconds, so it is quite a bit worse than 4.2.4.

..to reproduce: set up e.g. 6 webcam streams from a few boxes, I used motion.
Once these are running, browse the first stream, e.g. http://192.168.1.2:8081/ with konqueror, once you have a moving picture, split the view in 2 using one of the "Split View" buttons in the "Extra Toolbar", point the 2'nd view to another stream, e.g. http://192.168.1.2:8082/ or http://192.168.1.3:8081/ and then repeat adding unique stream views until konqueror have had enough of this and lose track of the streams.

Please give us public URLs to test with.
I fear otherwise this is not testable

..I never used used public web cams, I set up 6 motion web
server boxes on my lan and viewed them in Konqueror, split
up in 6 pane views, 3x2, should be easy to set up in a lab.

..see my comment #1 of 2009-08-05 21:35:32 for recipe on
how to reproduce this bug.
Comment 4 Martin Koller 2011-06-23 21:58:22 UTC
I did read your comment.
But my request for public URLs is based on the fact that hardly some programmer of KDE will set up your equipment to test the problem you mention.
If you like to have the problem fixed, you need to support the guys doing the coding.
