(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: konqueror Version: 2.1 beta2 (KDE 2.1 Beta 2) Severity: normal Installed from: cvsup Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.0) OS: Linux 2.4.0 i686 (compiled sources) Even if the "use double-click to activate or open" checkbox is selected in the Mouse settings actions are executed with a single click in detailed list view mode. This is very user un-friendly and annoying even for a user that likes single-click mode for icons because in ordinary list views a single click just selects the item. (submitted via bugs.kde.org)
I can't reproduce this. I activated double-click-mode in the Mouse settings and all the view-modes in konqueror switched to that mode just fine. Single-click in treeview detailed-list-view text-view.. only selects the file doesn't activate it. Even the dynamic update worked (i.e. I didn't have to restart konqueror). If you open ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals under the [KDE] group do you have SingleClick=true or false ? Do the icon views work as expected ? -- David FAURE david@mandrakesoft.com faure@kde.org http://home.clara.net/faure/ http://www.konqueror.org/ KDE Making The Future of Computing Available Today
I'm having this same problem in KDE 3.1. I had the problem in Mandrake 9.0 with textar rpms, and have now the problem in Mandrake 9.1. Singleclick in [KDE] preferences is false. Even creating a new accoutn and configuring it to use one click in kcontrol didn't worked. In icon view single click is all right. Should I open a new bug about this? Can someone tell me if this is a Mandrake problem or happens on other distros? Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem on 3.1.3 shipped with Mandrake 9.2 powerpack. To reproduce this bug, I do the following: 1) Launch KDE Control Center 2) Go to "Peripherals"->"Mouse" 3) In the "Icons" section I select "Double click to open files and folders (select icons on first click)" 4) Run Konqueror (as file manager) 5) In the Icon View, all is OK: double clicking opens files and folders. 6) I change to the Detailed List View ("View"->"View Mode"->"Detailed List View") 7) Now single click opens files and folders. 8) Switch back to the icon view 9) Now all is OK again: double clicking opens files and folders. So it seems that certain views ignore user's mouse settings. It's not limited to Detailed List View. The full list of views that exhibit this behaviour: "Tree View" "Info List View" "Detailed List View" "Text View" The list of views that _do not_ exhibit this behaviour: "Icon View" "MultiColumn View"
This bug seems to be the same thing as bug 52314. One must be left open, other needs to be marked as dupe.
This is a Mandrake bug (see bug 52314 for details) and should be reported to them.
For all interested, there's a Mandrake bug at http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6392.
