Description rtlane01 2009-05-18 19:18:00 UTC
Version: Screen resize & rotate monitor setting (using KDE 4.2.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

In order to size my KDE screen to the size of my monitor, I changed the display setting from 1152x864 to 1440x900 and clicked 'Apply', and subsequently clicked save settings after test showed satisfactory results, then 'OK'. The settings are applied for the duration of the session, but when the machine is restarted, the old settings [1152x864] are used.

When saving the changes, a dialog is displayed saying that the changes are saved in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. However, after saving the changes as indicated above, I looked at that file via Konsole and the last modification date of the file reflected the original installation date, instead of the date when I changed the display setting via 'Screen resize & rotate' function on the task bar.

This openSUSE, KDE is being run as a virtual machine under VMware Workstation 6.5.
