Description Beat Wolf 2009-05-08 13:06:59 UTC
Version: 2.1 beta1 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

After amarok renamed a album by itself, my gf tried to rename it back.
The album is a collection of different artists. thanks to the improved compilation detection of amarok 2.1, the album was indeed discovered as a compilation. But when my gf tried to rename the album (right click on the album, meta data), amarok split up the album into many albums with the same name and does not see it as a compilation anymore.

thanks for your great work :-)

I reopen this bug because the other bug didn't talk exactly about this bug, and also because the other bug is marked as resolved, and i can reproduce this with amarok 2.2.1.

So, renaming a compilation (album with different artists), creates a album for each artist, all with the same name. Only removing the album from the collection and readding it solves the problem.

I can confirm this in 2.2-git. A restart does not fix the problem. Also, the old album is still showed under Various Artists but expanding it shows no tracks.

Beat, any news on this?

This bug exists for Amarok 2.3.2 (KDE 4.5.3, Fedora 14). (I'm more familiar with bug #202360).

Thank you for the feedback.

This is an automated message from the triager:

Amarok 2.4.1 has been released on May 8 already. Could you please upgrade and test if you can still reproduce this bug?

Without feedback within a month we will close this bug as resolved.

Thank you for your understanding.
Comment 9 Myriam Schweingruber 2011-07-15 08:59:23 UTC
Closing for lack of feedback. Feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce this with Amarok 2.4.2 beta 1 or later and provide the necessary feedback.
