Description Jonathan Thomas 2009-04-19 14:32:52 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Since the MSN plugin has been renamed to the WLM in KDE 4.2, users who had MSN accounts configured will lose their MSN account settings on upgrade.

The WLM Messenger accounts use the following section header

[Account_WlmProtocol_xyz@hotmail.com]

While the old MSN accounts use

[Account_MSNProtocol_xyz@hotmail.com]

Kopete should probably provide a kconf_update script to update the KDE 4.1/MSN configs to the KDE 4.2/WLM config.

We don't have this and we're up to KDE 4.3 now. Is it still worth doing?
Comment 2 Jonathan Thomas 2009-09-06 04:04:26 UTC
Since most distributions have not done official releases including KDE 4.3, I would think that it would still be of great worth.

...but by now I guess there's really not any point in doing this now, seeing as most people transitioned a year ago. Oh well.
