Version: (using Devel) Compiler: gcc 4.3.2 Installed from: Compiled sources This has been happening for a month. I'll he happily chatting away to someone, then all of a sudden my text is black on a black blackground. As I type I can't see what I'm typing, until I hit return and it moves to the chat log. Once it turns black SOMETIMES pasting some text from a website into the box will fix the problem. Sometimes it won't. One time when I randomly pasted a link my text changed to blue underline (also on a black background) and then at least I could see the text (since blue appears on top of black) but I couldn't remove the blue or underline (it turned itself off randomly several weeks later). Attempting to change my text colour in the formatting toolbar makes no difference. Nor does turning off rich text display. This is frustrating, as I've been doing some development for Kopete and have some more fixes in the works, but this makes it so unusable I've had to switch clients.
I'm running into the exact same situation. In the "About Kopete" screen, it says I am running version 0.70.50, with KDE 4.2.70 (KDE 4.2.70 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090415)) "release 1.8". Also, if I go into the Kopete settings for the chat window and change the theme, the text rights itself when I click "apply". After a few minutes, the black-on-black returns.
