Description M G Berberich 2009-03-26 10:13:33 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.1)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

On a system without keyboard (like a tablet-PC), to log in one has to use a virtual keyboard like xvkbd to enter the password. This worked fine with kde3-kdm by starting xvkbd in Xsetup (and terminating it in Xstartup). With kde4-kdm this no longer works. The keyboard shows up but it's not possible to enter characters, probably because kdm prevents the virtual-keyboard to get focus.

This makes kdm 100% disfunctional on systems without keyboard like tablet-PCs (slate-type). This behaviour should at least be deactivatable.

I can confirm this on openSUSE 11.1, the keyboard shows, but I cannot enter anything.
