In the dialog that gives you the error there should be the possibility to get more information and a backtrace. If you can reproduce this bug, please get this backtrace and put it into a comment to this bug so we can look over it.

Same bug here. A right-click on any icon produces a signal 11 crash. All things plasma disappear (the desktop, the panel) momentarily. I can see the KDM wallpaper behind. All application windows remain ok. The desktop eventually returns. I installed Kubuntu 9.04 Beta (KDE 4.2.1) and had a working plasma desktop. Then decided to try Gnome and switched for some time. When I switched back to Kubuntu my right-click was broken. I have all Kubuntu REQUIRED packages installed but only some RECOMMENDED. So this problem could be (among many things) a conflict with Gnome config files, a missing or corrupted KDE config file, or a missing dependency in Kubuntu.
