Description Daniel Duris 2009-02-04 20:21:39 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

KDE keyboard layout switcher from kde control center

I have a global shortcut for changing layouts enabled and is set to (left)ALT+(left)SHIFT - same as the standard shortcut in Windows.

However, after few restarts, the shortcut is no longer enabled. Although it is still there shown in the switcher config, it doesn't work anymore. I haven't found out what causes the shortcut to malfunction.

I can then enable the shortcut again after changing a few things (e.g. click checkbox and click again to return to the former value) and clicking on Apply.

Could you please try if you have this problem with KDE4.2 ?
Comment 2 Daniel Duris 2009-02-22 21:03:24 UTC
thanks. i can't at the moment as i am on ubuntu and it only provides updates to 4.1.4 at the moment. i am definitely not pulling nightly updates to mess my system up.

Any better with Ubuntu 9.04?
Comment 4 Daniel Duris 2009-04-28 16:10:20 UTC
sorry, can't upgrade yet as FGLRX driver doesn't exist for my card, so far.

I have the problem that re-defining global shortcuts (e.g. pull up kicker) is not permanently stored. It only keeps the setting for the session and then forgets about it. Is this the same bug or should I file a new one?

I'm running KDE 4.4.2 btw.
Comment 7 Daniel Duris 2010-04-04 14:53:24 UTC
no, that's different bug and i confirm this bug no longer exists on Kubuntu Karmic Koala.
Comment 8 Unknown 2010-04-04 15:00:40 UTC
OK, then I'll file a new bug.
Comment 9 Andriy Rysin 2010-05-12 02:25:45 UTC
Per Dan's comment the problem is not there any more, closing the bug.
