Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

After starting KDE, when clicking on the "kickoff application launcher", plasma crashes. It restarts, and if I click again, it crashes again. But then after third time, it looks stable. That's the crash report

This is a crash in the folderview plasmoid. Does the folder that folderview is showing contain some strange filename file? (like in bug 180650)
Not sure why it crashes when launching the menu, maybe it changes something related to the folder the folderview plasmoid is showing.
This may be related to bug 180650 / bug 181132

Not sure I understand right. I thought that the crashed was caused when clicking on the "kickoff application launcher". Actually I didn't get any more crash today.

Anyway, Folder view is showing the desktop folder. My ~/Desktop contained yesterday this

but the desktop view actually shows some icons for files which don't exist anymore. Maybe this is the problem. I upgraded from KDE 4.0 to 4.1 and then to 4.2. I think that when I was in 4.0 I deleted everything on my folderview, which caused deleted the files on my ~/Desktop, but not the links from the folder view. Do you know where are stored the icons on my folder view which are not on my ~/Desktop?

thanks

You can look at which folder is showing the Desktop (folderview containment as desktop) doing right click on the Plasma Desktop, and then go to FolderView settings.
Maybe the crash is related to some ghost/buggy file/link or something similar
Thanks
