Version:            (using KDE 4.1.4)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages

If I move the mouse during the splashscreen startup of first person shooters Doom 3 or Urban Terror (based on Quake 3) KDE 4.1.4 crashes and I am returned the KDM login window.

I just need to wait until the program has started correctly to avoid it.

It is repeatable, for me, with these two programs.

I suppose this is graphics related(weird)
What graphic cards and drivers do you have ?
Do you have Desktop Effects (compositing) enabled?

I have an nvidia 8800GT 512MB with the latest. I don't have Compiz on this machine, but possibly compositing is in effect (don't remember).

I am at work now but will send you more details later. Please suggest what output you wish to see, like lspci etc.

The nVidia driver version may be important (I don't remember howto get that info when using Debian)

Also, you need to check if you are using Desktop Effects:
Go to SystemSettings, Desktop, Desktop Effects: check if the "Enabled Desktop Effects" checkbox is checked. If you do,also attach the Advanced Configuration of the Desktop Effects
