Version: 4.2 rc1 (using 4.1.96 (KDE 4.1.96 (KDE 4.2 RC1)), 4.1.96-5.fc10 Fedora) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.9-159.fc10.x86_64 As description says. After updating to latest RC, it seems 'display reminder' is broken.
Is the korgac program running ? If yes, is the "Enable reminders" box checked ?

there just isn't enough information here to debug with. Neal, can you create a test appt with a reminder. say an hour from now. if the reminder doesn't display, then send me the relevant event from your std.ics file in .kde/share/apps/korganizer. I need all the lines between the starting BEGIN:VEVENT and the END:VEVENT in the std.ics file. It helps to give the test appt a strange summary like "FOOBAR" to make searching in your std.ics file a little easier.
This event, which I added at 8:50 and set for 9:15 should have sent a reminder at 9:00, but nothing happened: BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTAMP:20090116T135000Z ORGANIZER;CN="Neal Becker":MAILTO:ndbecker2@gmail.com ATTENDEE;CN="Neal Becker";RSVP=FALSE;PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION; ROLE=REQ-PARTICIPANT:mailto:ndbecker2@gmail.com CREATED:20090116T135000Z UID:KOrganizer-583353733.614 LAST-MODIFIED:20090116T135000Z SUMMARY:foobar DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20090116T091500 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20090116T111500 TRANSP:OPAQUE BEGIN:VALARM DESCRIPTION: ACTION:DISPLAY TRIGGER;VALUE=DURATION:-PT15M END:VALARM END:VEVENT
hmm.. I don't see anything obviously wrong there. works here, of course. I wonder if your korgacrc got borked somehow. Maybe try: 1) quit kontact (or korganizer) 2) kill korgac 3) mv ~/.kde/share/config/korgacrc ~/.kde/share/config/korgacrc.save 4) start kontact (or korganizer) and then try the reminder experiment again.
Hey, I have a better idea - why don't _you_ try that experiment :) Seriously, though, when I restarted korg, it apparantly tried to send reminders for every event that ever occurred. I killed knotify4 when it was using 14G VM! Anyway, I did the experiment and now I did get the notification.
so I'll close for now. Neal, please re-open if you experience this bug again in KDE 4.2.0
