Version:            (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

I am using the default shortcut settings for application switching:

Alt + Tab for application switch and
Alt + Shift + Tab for application switch in backward direction

I also set shortcut Alt + Shift for keyboard layout switching.


Now the Alt+Tab works correctly, but Alt+Shift+Tab works in same way as Alt+Tab - it switching applications in same direction.

When I set shortcut for keyboard layout switching to something else than Alt+Shift, then the Alt+Shift+Tab works perfectly.


I experienced this problem in KDE 4.1.2, 4.1.3 and 4.2.0RC1 (I did not used previous versions of KDE)

Also Shift+Tab doest`t work properly in YaST (text mode). I can navigate forward with Tab key but can`t navigate backward with Shift+Tab.

I think there is hardly anything that can be done. You have two conflicting shortcuts. The keyboard layout uses setxkbmap to get the shortcut, so that interferes.
