Description krienke 2009-01-13 08:20:37 UTC
Version: 1.10.92 (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

In the kmail version of coming KDE 4.2 there is no way (at least I was unable to find any) to set the background colors for the message text as well as the background color for the lines in the message list window (in classic view). The color setting have been removed from the regugular settings menu and there are no settings in the new "Select View Appearance" menu for this. So one has to live with the default white background as well as with the white/gray background combination in the message list and folder window without a way to change it.

Yes, this is by design, in the KMail configure dialog, you can now only change KMail specific colors.
Use System Settings to change standard colors for the listviews.
