When importing pictures, you have the opportunity to create a new album. If you highlight an existing album, it creates the new one under it. When the new album is created, both the parent and the child (new) album are both highlighted.

This problem sound already fixed . which version of digiKam you use ?

Opps, sorry. Missed including that. I'm on the latest 10.0-beta8 code (at least I think its the latest).
