Version: 2.0 (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Fedora RPMs Tried to remove amarok and all data from ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok and reinstall it but still it displays only menu and top part of the window. Lower part of the window is displayed put it's just blank. Also status bar at the bottom is displayed.
This is a packaging problem. Please refer to your distributions help channel on IRC, their forum or mailinglist.

I have this problem with Kubuntu packages also; so this affects DEB and RPM; are you sure its all downstream? (I don't know anything about packaging)

This thread in our forum describes the same problem, and proposes a solution: http://amarok.kde.org/forum/index.php/topic,16215.0.html Apparently the solution is the following: rm -rf ~/.kde4/share/config/amarok* Depending on your distro, you might have to exchange ".kde4" with ".kde"
This problem is still occurring. For me, it started when I updated to Amarok 2.0-1.1. Removing the config directory under ~/kde4....amarok (cut & pasted from the instructions) accomplished nothing for the gui. I did have to give it the location on disk of my music files. */ Not every Mandrive 2009.0 user has the problem. At least one other 64-bit user updated. Like me, he has both kde3 and kde4 on his 64-bit machine. My kde3 version worked; he had to run amarok --wizard and his then worked. His kde4 version worked; mine is afflicted with the mostly-blank bug.
Correction to above. The other Madriva 2009.0 64-bit user now says he simply ran amarok and played some music, which worked (and works for me). He did not look at the gui, and now says he has the same problem I have, as described by others above.
I did a cd _/.kde4/share/config ; rm -f ama* and then started up amarok again. This time it worked.
