Description Martin Fahrendorf 2008-12-16 21:36:55 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

it will be very usefull if the information panel (and the show info bubble) will show meta data of files like exif data of jpegs and png and title information of mp3 and ogg files.
For jpegs I like to see ISO Speed, shutter speed, aperture value, focal length, image size and comment.
For sounds I like to see title name, name of the actor, album name, title number, length of sond, encoding rate

May be it can be schown via the additional information function in the Iconview too.

Thanks Martin for the report. The following meta data are already shown in KDE 4.2 for sounds: title, genre, album name, artist. The image size is also shown for images in KDE 4.2. But it is planned that in future it is configurable which kind of meta data should be shown.

Addition

just compiled from SVN head. For mp3 files only version 2 tags are shown. Version 1 tags are ignored. Is this a desigh decission?

for avi and mpeg files the film length and resolution is not shown, or shown wrong.

No, Dolphin only shows tags that are provided by the underlying meta data system. We plan to do some improvements here in KDE 4.3. The plan is that the user himself can configure which meta data information should be shown in the Information Panel.
