Version: 0.60.3 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.4tuxonice I noticed that this feature (tooltips on emoticons) does not always work. Sometimes it is impossible to understand text written with lots of emoticons (especially with some msn-enthusiasts...), without disabling them at all. Moreover, copying all the text to the clipboard does not solve the problem, since emoticons are not replaced by their original text equivalent.
I can confirm that it happens here on Mandriva Cooker. Captions over custom emoticons (including animated ones) don't seem to appear.
I can confirm this with KDE 4.2.2 from Ubuntu packages. * Custom emoticons don't have tooltips (tested with MSN protocol). * Emoticon text is not copied in the clipboard when selected. * Neither text nor emoticons are displayed anymore when a chat window is reopened so there is no way to notice there were an emoticons in a previous discussion. Same problem in chat history.
I can confirm the same symptoms as the ones described in the message #2 for Kopete 0.80.2 (KDE SC 4.3.4).
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
