Description Maxi Schimmel 2008-12-02 14:25:36 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

With the previous version of SVN version I have to reconfigure my man account to use the new libmsn library.
Before that I never can connect again. I reconfigure several times my account but always show "Connecting" and never connect it.
Comment 1 Maxi Schimmel 2008-12-02 14:27:06 UTC
The version I'm using is Versión 0.60.81, from openSUSE KDE4 Factory repo.
Comment 2 Tiago Salem Herrmann 2008-12-03 02:46:09 UTC
Hi,

please, compile libmsn with -DDEBUG.
You can do that by passing -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS=-DDEBUG to cmake in build time.
After that start kopete with "kopete --nofork", try connecting to wlm and then paste here the last lines after it get stucked.

thanks

Tiago, I run 'kopete --nofork' and get this:

maxx@austin:/tmp $ kopete --nofork

I checkd several times my login data and it's correct (and before the change on the msn library Kopete works ok for me)
Comment 4 Tiago Salem Herrmann 2008-12-03 04:03:36 UTC
Does your msn ID have non-ascii characters?
are you trying the full address? and what is the domain of your msn ID?
Comment 5 Maxi Schimmel 2008-12-03 11:30:23 UTC
Tiago, my ID doesn't contain non ascii chars.
The domain is @hotmail.com and yes, I'm trying with the full mail address as ID.
Comment 6 Tiago Salem Herrmann 2008-12-03 13:33:09 UTC
Well, in this case I'll really need the debug from libmsn, or send me in private only your msn ID, so then I can try to debug this problem.
Comment 7 Tiago Salem Herrmann 2008-12-03 17:25:30 UTC
Hi,

this problem is fixed in the latest libmsn on svn.
probably this fix will be present on libmsn-4.0-beta2.

Thanks

Hi Tiago

I am having the same problem using kubuntu jaunty alpha3 KDE 4.1.96 (KDE 4.2 RC1), kopete Version 0.60.82, libmsn 4.0~beta3-0ubuntu1

kopete says connecting when activating my WLM account, but nothing happens..

kopete --nofork reveals nothing interesting..

Any advice?

Comment 9 Maxi Schimmel 2009-01-23 22:55:16 UTC
Paul, with a recent version of libmsn this issue is fixed.
I have now the KDE 4.1.96 opensuse packages, and libmsn0_1-3.9.91-3.2 (I presume it's libmsn 4.0 beta2 packed by opensuse).

With this version of libmsn I have no more problems with my WLM account.

Thanks for the report Maxi.

Paul, could you please try libmsn beta4?

Thanks.

hi Tiago

I downloaded and compiled beta4 and can confirm that it allows me to connect and download my contact list OK... My contacts are all offline at the moment so cannot confirm more than this right now, but things are looking up ;-)

Thanks

Hi there!

Running kopete from KDE SC 4.3.4 with libmsn beta8 and i'm having this problem. It's happening only with my account and only with kopete. I can connect using kmess, amsn and the windows client. I can connect with my brother's account. Can't connect using mine. My ID is e_matias at msn dot com. What could it be?

Thank you.
