Description Roland Leißa 2008-12-02 00:05:29 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.1.3)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages

An application which couldn't be launched because of an error should give the user a proper error message instead of annnoying the user with 30 seconds (or whatever your timeout is) of launch feedback.

Examples:

running amule in the cmd-line when amule is already running results in:

$ amule
Initialising aMule
Checking if there is an instance already running...
There is an instance of aMule already running
Raising current running instance.

This message should see the user.

A wrongly linked app results in:
Could not find libxxx.so

Could be useful for the user, too.

still there in KDE 4.5.1. I find the current behaviour very annoying.

Lauch feedback has no timeout for failed app and disappears almost instantly - and there is no error message
