Version: (using KDE 4.1.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I just upgraded to Kubuntu 8.10 a few days ago, looks quite nice, but when I set "Walk Through Desktops" as a keyboard shortcut with Win+Tab (this is an old windows computer), I started running into a problem. Whenever I use this shortcut, the mouse pointer disappears! I can get it back by logging out and logging back in, but it's very annoying. Also, I can switch desktops normally by clicking on the grid applet on the taskbar, no error, only when I use the shortcut it disappears.
I hope to have select a more appropriate compoent.
Do you have the coverswitch effect enabled? It is default on in Kubuntu. If yes could you please test if the problem is still present if you deactivate this effect?
(In reply to comment #2) > Do you have the coverswitch effect enabled? It is default on in Kubuntu. Also, I managed to get the bug to go away by changing the shortcut to Ctrl+Tab (which works even with effects on.) Very strange...
I have no idea how this can happen, no code is executed in cover switch during desktop walking. Has Kubuntu modified it or something? I cannot reproduce with either the old or new versions.
I have an idea. What's your settings in activation tab of KWin settings? Especially your Window Switching settings and focus follows mouse policy. Nevertheless the bug will be fixed in 4.2 as the mouse is not removed any more when activating coverswitch.
