Description humufr 2008-11-20 15:48:46 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

if you are moving system tray outside the panel and try to change the size you can see that most of the items inside are not include in the system tray background. In additionif you are trying to change the size of it you can only change the size wwith the same ration than the default one. That stop the possibility to have a very narrow system tray for example.
But nice work before it was impossible to have system tray outside the panel I like it.

Using trunk (r886870) if I move the systray out of the panel, to the desktop, the systray and the desktop flicker a bit, and after plasma restart itself.

FiNex: that's not the same bug as reported here, and backtraces would be helpful =)

anyways, it drags out of the panel just fine here, and items only pop out of the background if you make it really small. i'll look into making a minimumSizeHint for it; as for the aspect ratio, i'll also fix that but you can also hold down the control key to override the aspect ratio enforcement

Sorry Aaron, I've misreaded what humufr wrote. Anyway, if I'll catch a backtrace about #1, I'll post on a new report. bye!

Hi thanks aaron the trick with the control key solved the problem but I saw a small bug (perhaps I have to open a new bug...). If you try to turn the plasmoid to put the systetray vertical all the icons are shifted to the right from the background.

Things look pretty much fine when I take an existing system tray from the panel and drag it to the desktop, but if I remove the systray in the panel and add a new one to the desktop from the add widgets list it is initially too small.

Resizing is a bit weird too, with the icons jumping around trying to make new rows. But that could probably be considered a different bug.

I'm on r958058. I have 6 icons in systray. I moved tray from panel to desktop. Then tried to resize it. I can reduce the size upto extent that it becomes minimal and all icons look like out of systray. Holding control reduces the limit till which we can resize but still 2 icons move out of try in this case. I think it should not reduce upto level which throws icons out of systray.

Just reproduced having icons out of widget on desktop.
