Description Tahseen 2008-11-18 06:38:08 UTC
Version: running kde4 snapshot build at 16th Nov (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

When powerdevil changes screen brightness in some system events .. power unplugged/replugged .. the screen brightness changes ok mostly (right now its broken for me either due the my last update of kde or nvidia driver) but the plasmoid slider for brightness remains as it was.

Changing the brightness in the slider changes the actual brighness but the reverse should also be reflected.

This bug belongs to plasma applet

Same here, seems some signal from solid doesn't make it though.
Comment 3 Alexander Rössler 2008-11-28 14:51:17 UTC
Same problem here, it also doesn't change if you adjust the brightness via Fn buttons.

SVN commit 912092 by sebas:

Update the brightness slider when other widgets are updated

This doesn't fix the problem that the brightnessslider doesn't catch
when you use your keyboard, but in "increases the odds" that things go
well. We really need this fixed in Solid, as not even this method of
getting the right values into the slider seems to work

I'm on r958058. I tried to plug/unplug ac adapter and changing profiles from battery monitor widget. In all cases brightness slider is adjusted automatically.
