Description mcas 2008-11-17 09:13:43 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.10)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

My default mail client is thunderbird. I configured this at the Control Center -> Default Applications -> Email Client.
If i click on File -> Mail inside of kate a thunderbird window opens but there is no attachment.
I tried this on an opensuse 11.0 with KDE 3.5.9, too. There is the same problem.

If it helps here is the command line for thunderbird to compose an email with an attachment:

thunderbird -compose attachment=file://$FILENAME

Best Regards

Marcus / mcas

finex: Why did you change that back? Kate uses a KDE standard tool to send the mail, so that is where it should be fixed!

I've thought this is an issue on kate part, because mailto: link (for example) works right, so I've supposed it. If I'm wrong, I'll change it immediatly to kcontrol/kcm....

I wrote the plugin that allows mailing files, using the kdelibs component :)

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Kcontrol has been replaced by System Settings in Plasma. Please give the latest version of that a try, and open a new bug in "systemsettings" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
