I've noticed that in various applications keypresses do not always register. This seems to happen when I'm typing quickly. It happens in different applications such Kate and Firefox, but not in all (for example Konsole seems to be OK, or maybe it takes more to cause it and I haven't run across the problem on Konsole). I don't know what they have in common, some editing widget maybe. 

The keyboard is also not an issue as I mentioned that it doesn't happen in Konsole and also on a previous version of KDE it worked fine.

I've tried changing the values of the keyboard delay and rate but so far I haven't found relief.

It's very irritating, and I wish it would be fixed.

Thank you for filing this bug report. However, this is 99% not a kde bug. Especially if you say the problem exists also in firefox. The problem could be anything... bug in xorg, bug in a xorg driver, bug in the linux kernel...

Please ask for support in a user forum or some other user support place and if you finally find that this is caused by some kde setting, then reopen this report with some more information.
