Description Tjaart Blignaut 2008-11-04 22:17:13 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS:                FreeBSD
Installed from:    I Don't Know

How to repdocuce:

File..Open from any application

Click on a folder and press enter. The application complains that it cant read the file, which is really a folder.

Expected Behaviour:

The folder should be opened in the open file dialog, allowing the user to browse the folder instead of being forced to double click to navigate into a folder.

This problem only occurs when double click to open file is set in mouse settings.
Comment 2 George Kiagiadakis 2008-11-04 22:35:08 UTC
I can confirm this behavior when double click is the default mode in system settings.

Here using:

Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.86 (KDE 4.1.86 (KDE 4.2 >= 20081221))
kdelibs svn rev. 901348 / kdebase svn rev. 901348
on ArchLinux x86_64 - Kernel 2.6.27.10

I can't reproduce this bug.
Even when using the "Double Click" setting, pressing ENTER when a folder is selected in a file-open dialog browse to that folder (it doesn't try to open the folder as a file). Pressing enter when a file is selected open the folder as expected.

Can anyone still reproduce this bug with a recent KDE version? (4.1.3 / 4.2beta2 / 4.2svn) ?  Thanks :)
