Version: System Settings: 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2) "release 45.4" (using KDE 4.1.1) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs The multimedia keys on Dell M1330 are recognized. But each time I press the play/pauze button, it starts play/pauze sequence which lasts 4 or 5 times. So 50% probability of stopping at the correct one. Also mute button en next- previous track buttons.
it happens even with some combo keys like CTRL+... or ALT+... (just reproduced on current trunk, r883931)
1. Is this still a problem? 2. What does xev say? (start xev and press the keys) 3. kbd or evdev? Mike
No, I think this is no more a problem. I remember about this bug, and I remember also it has been fixed. I've forgot to close it. Thanks Michael :-)
This is still a problem. I am sorry to say this, but I have Dell m1330 laptop, with opensuse 11.2 using KDE 4.3.1 release 6. When I press, for exmple the mute button, I get four, or five events in the xev window. So depending on this, it goes mute, or not. Also the volume up and down, the same, large steps since it senses 4 times each time I press one of them. The buttons are not hard keys, but touch sensitive. Could it be that they are "too sensitive" Best regards, Daniel
If xev shows four or five events then it is not a kde problem but a x11 problem. About the sensitive part this is x11 specific too. I have no clue about the way this is configured or set. So please close this bug again and open one against x11. Before you do that you could check the following hints (not kde related). Do all of your keys repeat really fast? If in konsole and you press a key and hold it. How long does it take to repeat the key and how fast it is repeated. See http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-software-2/how-do-i-adjust-keyboard-repeat-rate-649303/ No need to report the results back because we can't help you with the problem. Sorry Mike
