Description Joe Biden 2008-11-03 03:54:13 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-4-generic

Waller Manager should honor checking email in Kmail as "using the wallet" and not demand the password.
Comment 1 Michael Leupold 2008-11-10 11:36:21 UTC
When kmail first checks mail it gets the password from kwalletd. It then keeps the password and doesn't ask kwalletd about the password again.
There is no way for kwalletd to tell that any application still uses the password it has handed out to them - that's just not possible.

I understand your concerns but there is nothing I - as the kwallet maintainer - can do about it. I'm reassigning this bug to kmail and change it to a wishlist item. Unfortunately I know the KDE PIM people are quite busy at the moment so I don't know if they'd have time to consider/implement this.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
