Description Gianfranco L'Abbate 2008-10-23 10:52:45 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When shutdown (or restart) pc, the display in the half upper is black, and in the half lower is corrupt, the pc is lock (type endless loop) and the cpu is in high use, and only way to shutdown the pc is a "brutal" power off/on

With the update of release candidate on kubuntu the problem is near to solution. The screen is not corrupt, appear a delay on a black screen and after the bar of kubuntu shutdown appear.

Are you using desktop effects and a nvidia gpu?
