Description Seb 2008-10-22 09:46:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I have very limited access to my CD ROM drive using KDE 4.1.2

CD-ROM configuration: See Sony Vaio AR 51E laptop

KDE 3.5 can handle it and I use K3B from KDE3 to listen to music right now.

Problems:
o KSCD does not detect the cd drive in the settings dialog.
o I have no idea how to eject the cd drive (there is a special key on the laptop that KDE4 does not support). The command "eject" in Kscd does not work
o KIO audiocd:/ reports unknown error
o When ejecting the CD with K3B and inserting an Audio-CD, then Kscd reads the contents properly.
o After playing and stopping a song in Kscd, the contents of the AudioCD is messed up in Kscd (there appear new tracks in the list, other tracks have wrong song length)
o Kscd wants to play "analogue" by default, but only digital audio output works.

KSCD was quietly ejected about two years ago since it never was ported to KDE Frameworks or Qt5. I'm closing this as "sorry, this is never going to be fixed in a newer product."
