Comment 1 ultrabla 2008-10-16 22:12:53 UTC
sry forgot.

when i close it it crashes.
Comment 2 ultrabla 2008-10-16 22:30:34 UTC
also switching around to other apps crashes it (korganizer kalender kontacts rss reader etc...)

when in traybar only the kmail icon is able to bring the app back to the front.
the others are only usable to switch and then open kontact with the kmail icon
Comment 3 Richard Hartmann 2008-10-17 08:41:26 UTC
As you are using Gentoo, can you rebuild with debugging symbols enabled? That would certainly help the devs to pinpoint the issue.
Comment 4 ultrabla 2008-10-20 00:41:49 UTC
from kalender:

(started kotact -> email window is open -> i switch to kalender -> crash)

well i added -g and -ggdb in make.conf but i think it did not work enabling the debugging symbols.
Comment 5 Richard Hartmann 2008-10-20 01:55:03 UTC
Dunno what options to enable to get a good backtrace as I just install the -dbg packages provided by Debian.

Maybe someone else can give you a pointer or two :)

In any case, thanks for rebaking kontact!
Comment 6 ultrabla 2008-10-21 17:15:53 UTC
tried adding the useflag for the programs but still the same.

i am back to 3.5...

side note: no real desktop is pita, no right click on desktop for creating textfiles fast and for a only temp useage. f.e. like collecting all kontact packages and builing the debug info...

now i have to open dolphin to be able to create a txt file somewhere for the same purpose -> time loss.

Mh, all the backtraces have no use :( Closing
Please re-open this bug report if you experience the same bug with a recent KDE version (4.1.4 / 4.2beta1 / 4.2rc1 / 4.2svn) and if you can provide a complete backtrace. Thanks.
