Version: 2.0 (using 3.5.9, Debian Package 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6 (lenny/sid)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.26-1-686 Forwarded from: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=502372 From: Russell Coker <russell@coker.com.au> To: Debian Bug Tracking System <submit@bugs.debian.org> Subject: kgoldrunner: Should support sharing games Date: Thu, 16 Oct 2008 14:20:03 +1100 Package: kgoldrunner Version: 4:3.5.10-1 Severity: normal Kgoldrunner stores it's levels under ~/.kde/share/apps/kgoldrunner. The process of copying files from there to export is not obvious to non-technical users (the vast majority of people who want to play the game). It should be possible to export a campaign in a single file for easy transfer via email or other method so that people can share games with their friends. It would be ideal if there was some integration with kmail. Konqueror supports instructing kmail to send an email with a link address, it would be good if kgoldrunner could instruct kmail to send a message with a campaign file attached.
Bug reports and wishes in KDE applications should be sent in via the menu item Help->Report Bug... which gets them to the bugs.kde.org database and direct to the author/maintainer (me, in this case). I do not know how to stop my replies going to Debian ... Re your wish, Russell, it is a good idea, but I have no idea what the demand for it would be. I have heard from only four or five other players in as many years. Present KGoldrunner file formats were not designed with anything like this in mind, so I will have to put it on the backburner for now (my TODO file).
