I'm not entirely sure what triggers it. I start Kopete, and it autoconnects to everything but the MSN messenger and Google Talk (jabber) services. I open up the main window and manually connect it to those two. It connects and shows my contacts' status, so I hide it to the systray. About 5-10 minutes later, it segfaults. I'm pretty sure nobody messaged me, so that isn't it. Otherwise, I have no clue.

A new WLM plugin will be available in KDE 4.2 that has replaced the previous MSN plugin, and should have this crash fixed.
