Description Martin Sondergaard 2008-10-12 17:40:15 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I'm not sure if this counts as a crash.

The Kicker panel disappeared, and I was unable to access it.
I had configured it to "Hide automatically", and this worked ok for a few days. Today the Kicker panel would not come back from its hidden state, so I was unable to use it. Moving the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen didn't work; it didn't make the panel appear.

I had to use Alt+F1 to get the panel to appear. This enabled me to reconfigure the panel, and I configured it to stop hiding automatically. Then I changed it to hide automatically again, and it now works correctly, hiding and unhiding correctly.

This problem started when I was using Kontact, but I had other programs open at the same time, so it may not have been Kontact which caused this problem to start.

This bug report doesn't tell you how to reproduce the bug, so this bug report won't be of any use unless other people have the same problem, and add more information.

The workaround described above doesn't work every time. Right now it doesn't work at all for me so I'm using the hide button to hide/unhide the Panel manually.

The window manager seems to be aware of the configuration changes because it correctly resizes windows to when autohide is configured (i.e. full size).

Kicker is currently unmaintained, you can look to your distribution for help, however.
