This bug applies to viewing messages in the preview pane, not in a separate window.

When I try to change the font (size or typeface) for the message body, it is changed for the fancy headers but NOT for the text of the message itself. The message text CAN be changed, but only by adjusting the "fixed width font" parameters. The unfortunate effect of this is that it's impossible to use proportional fonts in the message view.

I have checked Kmail from KDE4 and it behaves as expected; changing the message body font changes both the fancy headers AND the message text.

Cancel that.
Idiot user error. Didn't notice that the "view" menu had a "use fixed font" setting and that had been checked.
