Okay, I have the same problem with GMail IMAP access. I also access an exchange server via KMail without problems, so the issue is either something with the communication to/from GMail, or - and this is what I just noticed, but don't know quite how to put - something about the size of the message box? I was fetching the listing for my inbox folder, and it died with beforementioned message, but I noticed that the specified inbox size was exactly "10.0 MB", so I tried fetching the list for "[Gmail]/All emails", and again, the process died with the message, and the size ended up at exactly "10.0 MB". Fetching the list of messages for "Sent emails" succeeded, and the reported size is "2.0 MB". Please see enclosed screen capture. Could this have something to do with this? I've searched and searched google for answers, but came up short. Maybe this will help :) Anyways, thanks for an amazing application. I've used it previously for a couple of years, and now, after being away for a couple of years, I'm back, and it's wonderful :) Of course, except for this bug ;) Cheers, Daniel
I just added hardy-backports to my distro's repositories, and received an update to KMail among others. Problem disappeared. Current KMail version is 1.9.10, Kontact 1.2.9, KDE 3.5.10. Seems it's been fixed already between 3.5.9 and 3.5.10 :) Thanks, KDE developers :) Thank you very much.
For me it's also fixed in 1.9.10.
