in pidgin you can drag a contact over another contact and make it a sub contact of the account. In this you can add sub-contacts or reorganize with contacts in your address book but there is no way to simply reassign existing contacts.

basically I want the drag a contact over another one like pidgin has to make it a subcontact.

Fixed in trunk (SVN commit 946606) will be in KDE 4.3.
