Version: (using KDE 4.1.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I have everything in KDE set to the smallest icon size. In KDE 3.5 this is perfect. In my KDE4-test setting this looks very ugly because there is to much space around the small icons. I could not find any setting to adjust this. I have made a screenshot comparing the space around small icons in the KDE 3.5.10 and KDE4.1.1 version.

This is the Oxygen style putting too much horizontal space in buttons; reassining.
Thanks for reassigning. I hope this is easy to fix. BTW: I believe this problem is not only the horizontal, but also the vertikal space. I attach some examples from Konqui and Ktorrent.

It would be really great if this bug could be fixed in KDE 4.2
Problem stil exists in 4.2.2
Still present in 4.3. Beta 2? Is there any chance of a fix before release of 4.3? Or is it possible (for a non programmer to manipulate a file manually so that it is changed?
Sorry but I don't see the problem - a little bit in the very first attachment, but not in any of the other ones
Ups, for me this is so obvious. I am comparing this to KDE3, now it looks really clumsy in the small icon setting. The main problem I see is the distance between the toolbars or between toolbars and menu bars. That is definitely too much. If this is (I hope not) a wont fix, please tell me that there is way to change this manually in a config.
Can someone add [UI] to the short description of this bug? Was requested here: http://kdepepo.wordpress.com/2009/06/29/high-dpi-aware-kde-applications/
Is this bug still valid ? Can someone compare with other widget styles. My belief is that it is not specific to oxygen and cannot be fixed in there.
