(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: konqueror Version: KDE 2.0 Severity: normal Installed from: Red Hat 7.0 Hi It is very frustrating to goto desktop and mount floppies and cdrom from Cdrom.desktop and floppy.desktop links. I wish that the user should be able to MOUNT/UMOUNT Floppies and CDRom within Konqueror. I believe you can do that! thanks. Rizwaan. (submitted via bugs.kde.org)

I believe you can do that! Yes even you can do that simply copy the desktop files where-ever you want for instance in the directory tree (see Go / Directory Tree since KDE 2.0 d= idn't support dropping files onto the directory tree). --=20 David FAURE david@mandrakesoft.com faure@kde.org http://www.mandrakesoft.com/~david/ http://www.konqueror.org/ KDE Making The Future of Computing Available Today
No deal! It's easy to add mount/umount options into popup menus on device mount points (parse fstab). I think it SHOULD be done. Do you wish to make Konqueror handy for ordinary user??
I agree with you.
Hi > It's easy to add mount/umount options into popup menus on device mount points (parse fstab) Sounds like a good idea. My devices:/ ioslave kded module backend plugin could be extended to list all mount points in a given directory. I don't think one dcop call from konqueror to kded / directory will cause any speed problems. (by the way, you know about the devices:/ slave, which exists since kde 3.1 ?) Kind regards Joseph Wenninger
No, never heard about it. Just tried - seems to be cool :)
i have old BTC CDROM and its noise is very load. Could you add option to set its speed on mounting (hdparm -E 14 /dev/cdrom)?
SOMEBODY CLOSE THIS BUG: The user asked for a way to mount/unmount from within Konqueror; this has technically been available since KDE 3.1, but is now usable in KDE 3.2 since the devices:/ IO Slave is now a big feature of the left hand menu.
I'd still would like to have an ability to mount/umount devices from context menu, when right-clicking the mount point. Having devices:// is great, but it's not so handy and it's pretty hard to find for many users.
Re: comment #7 I will leave that up to the reporter of the bug whether or not he wants it closed. Personally, I see this suggestion of limited usefullness compared to using the Devices section of the SideBar. -- JRT
This looks to me like a duplicate of bug #12622. Anybody disagree?
